The last year has brought change, challenge, and uncertainty — but also progress. California is redesigning its developmental disability services to better support community belonging, independence, and employment.

With new Department of Development Services (DDS) options and flexible programs, many support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities may now be personalized and built around a person’s goals, interests, and strengths.

Please join Sara Murphy from TransCen Inc. as she:
– Explains these new services, including eligibility and coordination of services
– Explores topics such as job exploration, work-based learning, skill building, supported and customized employment, and person-centered approaches that help individuals pursue their goals
– Shares examples of how individuals and families are using them to find employment and create meaningful, connected lives in their communities
This webinar is designed to help families and self-advocates understand what’s now available and how to make the most of it.

This webinar will provide live Spanish interpretation.

If you need accommodations to participate in the training or assistance with registration, please contact us as soon as possible at alyssa@php.com. We typically require 10 days to arrange accommodations to ensure your inclusion.

This is a Connections California event, a project of Parents Helping Parents – Silicon Valley. Connections California is sponsored in part by the San Andreas Regional Center, the California Department of Developmental Services, and the California Department of Education, Special Education.
